A whole number is divisible by \(2\) if and only if the digit in the \(1\)'s place is \(0,2,4,6,\) or \(8.\)

Example: Which of \(124\) and \(71\) are divisible by 2?

Look at the one's place to see if the numbers are divisible by \(2.\) The one's place in \(124\) is \(4\) so \(124\) is divisible by \(2.\) The one's place in \(71\) is \(1\) so \(71\) is not divisible by \(2.\)
